Jakub Gliński is a painter, performer and audio visual artist. He’s a total and radical artist. His inspiration and domain are destruction, decay and civilisational waste. Gliński’s radical performative actions often leave the audience in deep shock. His paintings and installations are usually created intuitively and subconsciously and follow the "trash and error” abstract aesthetic that’s full of expression. He also created projects such as: SUPER AIDS, Galeria śmierć Frajerom, Jesus Is A Noise Commander, Jakub Gliński & PURGIST, KURF, Too Empty To Poo, BOOM FOR GABBA, Igenn Xew.
Izabela Chamczyk graduated with honors from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław where she studied painting. She also studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań supervised by Domonik Lejman. She is a painter, performer and video artist. The art she creates is processual, sensual and emotional, it refers to sexuality and corporeality. She coined the term "performative painting” which combines painting with performance. She works with many media redefining their borders. She confronts and engages in live contact with the audience evoking strong emotions. Through her art, she tries to reach a zone of the outside world, outside of the gallery. Izabela Chamczyk is a three-time stipendist of the Minister of Culture and Nationalk Heritage, she was a finalist of prestigious competitions such as Vordemberge - Gildewart Foundation competition in MOCAK, Artystyczna Podróż Hestii, painting biennale Bielska Jesień, E. Gepperta competition in Wrocław, Triennale Młodych in Orońsko. She participated in many exhibitions as well as solo and group activities in many cities in Poland as well as in Iran, Israel or Russia. Her works are part of many public and private collections in Poland and abroad.

Był stypendystą Fundacji Płockiej, stypendystą Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego oraz beneficjentem programu Kolekcje - Zamówienia Kompozytorskie Instytutu Muzyki i Tańca (projekt "Video partytura 2" oraz projekt "Rezonans energetyczny"). Jest laureatem festiwalu Art of Improvisation we Wrocławiu.
Współpracuje z Medea Electronique oraz Teatrem Akt. Współtworzy Saluluekip i Modular String Trio. Zainicjował konferencję NOWY SENS MUZYKI: Kompozytor/Improwizator/Wykonawca na UMFC oraz Art Fest WAWA’ LULU w CSW Zamek Ujazdowski w Warszawie.

Joanna Rajkowska, born in 1968 in Bydgoszcz, Poland, is an artist based in Warsaw and London. A versatile artist, Rajkowska is best known for her work in public space, where she uses real-life situations, energies, organisms and materials to construct sites, installations and ephemeral actions. She utilises elements as diverse as plants, buildings, found objects, water, smoke or sound. The outcomes of her works range from urban axes and architectural projects, through geological fantasies, excavation sites to underwater sculptures. Most of her works happen, live and age in public space. Thus, her practice embraces all the entities involved as well as their relations, including organic and inorganic beings. Both alongside and separately, she produces films, photographs and models. De-familiarizing, de-humanizing and relating are her operating devices. She is interested in the limitations and the limiting of human activities, multiplicity of agencies and human and non-human relations.The artist understands her projects like organisms, as she focuses on matter in its molecular or cellular dimension, its life cycle, growth and ageing. With a strong conviction that we, as humans, have failed to produce a viable, sustainable culture, she often confronts historical and sociopolitical contexts with the lives of species other than human. Tinted with disappointment, her work visualizes and questions the notion of the nature-culture divide.

Tomasz Gołda is a musician from Bydgoszcz. Currently, he’s active in Bydgoszcz and the Tri City. From the beginning of his artistic path, he has been associated with Mozg club. He plays the drums in Good Night Chicken and in a music group that’s forming in the Tri City. On stage, he specializes in playing kraut rock and electronic music. He experiments with combining electronic loops with playing trance on percussion instruments. Privately, he is a veterinarian, analogue photography amateur and kangaroo.
Petr Yac is a producer who lives on the border of Poland and Germany. He is an avid admirer of musical deconstruction, who loves delays and reverbs. He is one of the most respected domestic creators of deep and unobvious electronic music filled with hum and dub which pushes the listeners into the depths of techno, drones, and other sound extremes. His early works were about creating deconstructive mixes that combined hundreds of sounds from various sources (r.g. "Versions”is a mix that contains 769 samples condensed in 35 minutes, this mix coined the term "mixing 2”). In his own mature productions for labels such as instabil, minicromusic, dym records, Yac consistently develops his noise filled unreal sound. In the meantime, with his long term buddy in bass, Tomek Karczewski, they started a dub buo called NORMAL BIAS. They released two albums for U Know Me Records. His last release, a four piece EP "Full Moon Insomnia” for Don’t Sit On My Vinyl Recordsappeared in October 2019 in a limited edition on vinyl. The four pieces on this album are embedded in ambient, seeking electronics and minimal-techno and can be compared to tanks moving with 100 bpm, immersed deeply in analogue noise, Yac’s trademark. He is also currently working on his new album. Large fragments of this material will be presented during the Mózg Festival.

Grzegorz Tyszkiewicz is going to present a radio program on VHF available within a 300 metre radius. Radio show Pionierski Bocian is a presentation of music released by the Bocian Records label intertwined with statements of artists and reviewers, radio journalists who have written and talked about this record label over the past 10 years. Adam Frankiewicz is going to take care of the technical aspects of the show. Among other speakers, we’re going to hear Bartek Chaciński.

For the third time, Mózg Festival is being held under the motto "Art as a path to understanding". The theme, which may sound a bit bizarre, is obviously meant to be a bit irritating and not necessarily to be liked after the first reading.
Art is often mistaken for entertainment, something we indulge in in our free time. When we have nothing to do we go to the theater, to the cinema, to the gallery, to a concert. Meanwhile, art, especially contemporary, should be something mandatory in the life of every person who cares about their intellectual and spiritual development.
Everybody knows that in order for our bodies to function efficiently we should take care of them through proper nutrition and physical movement. Everybody knows that because this knowledge is propagated and the expenditures on sports, physical development and promotion of these are enormous.
But what about the development of the mind? What has to happen for our mental condition to develop? We can assume that we also need some kind of stimulation.
This stimulation can be creation and contact with contemporary music, experimental music, visual arts, performance art or painting.
Maybe if this idea was promoted as much as the idea of physical fitness is promoted, we would have more healthy thinking people, maybe they would make the right choices and maybe we would not have a situation where countries are ruled by mentally limited psychopaths. Perhaps the thinking majority would be able to live in diverse, respectful communities, understanding and able to meet the needs of the members of those communities while respecting the world of flora and fauna.
Perhaps we would have more imagination and be able to create a better world, without hunger, without violence, without suffering.
Perhaps we need art as a path to understanding?
This, of course, is one of many assumptions and we will talk about others during the meeting.

Leena Kela is a performance artist, artistic director of the New Performance Turku Festival, a director of the Saari Residence and doctoral candidate at the University of the Arts Helsinki. In her works and research she explores dialogue between corporeality and materiality in performance art. She makes performances and videos that play with and twist our relationship with everyday objects and phenomena and pose questions to our worldview. Zbigniew Chojnacki is an accordion/live electronics player, improviser. He perceives the music and sounds conventionally with ease. The most important things are the dialogue and encounter. Any form of making a sound makes it easier to make contact with others. He is inspired by the elements most often not directly related to music. As he says: "an old washing machine, a blade of grass, the sound of an engine, or even an ordinary chair in the middle of a stage can be inspiring. Every single performance is completely different for me. The only permanent element for me is my instrument.’’ He worked with many distinguished musicians such as John Derek Bishop (TORTUSA), Ramon Prats, Yuhan Su, Joelle Leandre, David Kollar, TOC, Marcin Albert Steczkowski, Anna Gadt. Krzysztof Gradziuk, Adam Pierończyk, Krzysztof Knittel, Jacek Kochan. Apart from his solo works, together with Łukasz Czekała, he is a cofounder of Backspace group that plays improvised contemporary music.
Peter Jacquemyn was born in 1963 in Schaarbeek, Belgium. He lives and works in Brussels. His works include sculpture, drawing, and performance. He plays the double bass and uses voice. He has been active as an artist since 1985. "I am in two worlds. On the one hand I’m a musician, playing the bass, using my voice, experimenting on different ways of playing together, combining music coming from different cultures. On the other hand I’m also into visual arts, drawing, sculpture, installations, performance. Being in both worlds brought me to combine music and visuals on an equal level. Music is more than background, visuals are more than decor. Also movement, dance are now part of my interdisciplinary work.” Peter Jacquemyn and Gunda Gottschalk met for the first time in Wuppertal in 1995 and have been a well-established team ever since. Twenty-five years of continuous collaboration creates a boundless mutual trust and an unbreakable bond. Their collective research brought them on unknown ground and they want to share this experience. Their international collaboration ranges from duos to large ensembles, often integrating musicians of different nationalities. They also work with dancers and visual artists in multimedia stage projects. Opposites attract: Peter Jacquemyn is a sculptor and self-taught musician. Gunda Gottschalk is a classically trained violinist. Opposites sound: bizarre, anarchistic, sometimes cowardly and sometimes wild.
Aleksandra Klimczak is a soprano, opera singer and voice performer. She graduated with honours from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music’s Vocal And Acting Studies, under tuition of an excellent mezzo soprano Anna Radziejewska. She has received scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage for projects #Witkacy622 (improvised musical performance for opera singer, electronics, harp and flute) and Vox Animae Symphonialis - Hildegard von Bingen #840retractavit (2020). In 2017 she received a creative scholarship from the Capital City of Warsaw to create a suite for a city and improvising musicians in the form of an interactive sound map of Ursynów district called SONOR URBIS [sound-art map sonorurbis.pl]. She is constantly searching for a non-standard way of existence for a contemporary opera singer. On the one hand, she cooperates with the National Philharmonic and Polish Royal Opera, where she performs solo opera parts. On the other hand, she experiments with improvisation, sound-art and field recording. She works with prominent musicians from the Polish improvised scene. In a duo with Antoni Beksiak, they improvise with their voices and electronics. In May 2019 they performed as the first Poles in the prestigious fair Classical:NEXT in Rotterdam. Her area of expertise are world premiers of contemporary compositions. She strives to break genre boundaries in music and other forms of art. She performs in innovative projects that combine opera with dramatic theatre such as "28 dni” by O. Szylajewa in Teatr Polski in Poznań (premiered in November 2019). She is the founder of Fundacja o.to.a whose mission is to move high art out of the walls of opera houses and philharmonic halls to reach a wider audience.
The project is based on John Cage’s text "Overpopulation and Art".
Cage’s poem begins with the statement that the human population living in the 1950s is quantitatively equal to the current historical population. Later in it, the artist draws attention to the growing need to develop a culture that will consciously contradict the prevailing culture. He proposes various solutions to meet the problems of today’s civilization: a self-governing society without politicians; effective cleaning of water and air; balancing human needs and natural resources; replacing private property with universal availability of goods. In the face of the anticipated total automation of work, I propose a lifetime scholarship for everyone to pursue any studies

Musician and visual artist from Bydgoszcz. A multi-instrumentalist interested in exploiting the space between pop and avant-garde. VJ using videosampling technique and self-created materials. Resident of the Mózg club, participant of the WMI evenings and co-creator of the monthly ALT CTRL event, offering audiovisual installations, DJ sets, live performances by artists related to the alternative scene in Bydgoszcz.
DIN PILE (Dawid Gąsiorek) is a visual artist and musician who uses various techniques associated with analogue film and photography. He constructs his images so that they are integral to the sound layer. He also composes electronic experimental music. Apart from his solo project he is a member of the following band: Pimpominoplan with Szymon Gąsiorek, Claustrophone with Tomo Jacobson, Rozrabianie with Remigiusz Dziechciarow. He is a curator and founder of sound art festival Dźwięko Działka.
By definition, Niepokoje Gościnne is a platform for multidisciplinary artistic dialogue in different configurations, without permanent makeup. The first release is a result of cooperation of musicians from Gorzów Wielkopolski who are known from projects such as Dynasonic, wd30, Młyn or Kawałek Kulki. Niepokoje Gościnne is a project geared for stepping outside the box without following any particular movements. The onstage makeup of the project can take completely different forms and variations.
International Festival of Contemporary Music and Visual Arts „Mózg Festival” is an encounter of artists who work and create in all areas of contemporary music as well as performance art and multimedia installations where music plays an important part.
Artists who participate in the festival come from all around the world. This reflects the multicultural principle of Mózg Festival and enables the audience to experience and understand different aspects of various cultures.
The festival presents the newest performance techniques and interdisciplinary combinations that relate to and honour tradition.
Among the invited artists there are outstanding characters from the artistic world as well as young artists, whose hitherto activity manifests uniqueness. We feel that an indispensable part of the festival is the participation of local artists who meet the above-mentioned expectations. All artistic activity is treated as means leading to deeper understanding of the surrounding reality and changes that occur in the world.
This year festival is held under a motto “Arts as a path to understanding”.
We believe that art, especially contemporary, is a tool that helps unlock hidden capabilites to understand everything that surrounds us. In other words, we think that art is not an objective in itself but a means to achieve certain goals and as such it plays an important social role. We assume that experiencing contemporary art that is often created during an artist’s performance allows anyone, who participates in the act of creation, both the audience and and creator, to expand their ability to think independently, which in turn consequently leads to the deeper understanding of self, people around and occurring situations.
The festival is multicultural as we believe that awareness of cultural difference and acceptance of these differences lies at the foundation of international understanding. An individual that experiences contemporary art on a daily basis and is equipped with knowledge about cultural differences that occur within the surrounding community and has a chance to live consciously among others, as a member of a developing multicultural civil society that is able to make decisions regarding themselves and fellow members of the community. Such person is rid of fears and full of understanding towards the needs of other people.
