Ich Bin Nintendo

Ich Bin N!ntendo is a Norwegian trio that plays improvised noise punk. Their influences are a mixture of american hard-core, japanese noise and european improvised music. The result is often intense and no compromises are made. External tools and preparations on their instruments, such as bows and solid metal, expand their opportunities and color the soundscape. Ordinary distortion-pedals, a minimum of reverb, and maybe a noise-oscilliator are used, however, they never use electronics that make the instruments sound like something they are not. The band rather wants to extend the current limits of their instruments, in addition to playing cruel and punk sounds. In April 2012 ICH BIN N!NTENDO trooped up with The Thing’s critically acclaimed saxophone player, Mats Gustafsson (winner of the Nordic Council Music Prize 2011) and played a legendary concert during the 'Lillesalen Konsertserie' at the famous Chateau Neuf in Oslo. ICH BIN N!NTENDO is a purely improvising trio and can be compared to bands like The Ex and the more experimental releases from ZU. Though, in the company with Mats Gustafsson, the closest comparison would be, if anything, the Original Silence recordings.
