Dariusz Kubicki

Dariusz graduated from Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. He studied in the class of professor Zbigniew Bargielski (composition) and professor Jerzy Kaszuba (accordion). He writes music for unusual instruments such as drills, jigsaws or small Scottish bagpipes, often music with electronics. He also creates choral and orchestral music often using live electronics. A prominent part of the composer's works is written for accordion, whereas the sound of Russian bayan is the largest inspiration for him. In his work he uses advanced tools for programming and mathematics that help him solve the 'aleatoric questions' and allow to create interactive software for live electronics. His music has been performed at Music Festival of Baltic Countries PROBALTICA, the International Music Festival in Brno and international accordion competitions.

Michał Dobrzyński

In 2005 he graduated with distinction from the Music Academy in Bydgoszcz, where he studied composition with Marek Jasiński and Zbigniew Bargielski. Three years later he gained a doctorate from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. He was also taught by composers such as Anders Hillborg, Luca Francesconi, Marco Stroppa, Ivan Fedele, Horaţiu Rădulescu, David Dramm, Fabián Panisello and Joanna Bruzdowicz. He participated in a programme for young composers sponsored by the Krzysztof Penderecki European Music Centre. His works have been performed at the ‘Warsaw Autumn’ International Festival of Contemporary Music, the Festival of Premiers in Katowice and Instituto Musicale Pareggiato Achille Peri in Reggio Emilia. He recorded an album ‘Expression’ that contains his works recorded by Silesian Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra, Silesian Chamber Orchestra and solists (Bartłomiej Nizioł). In 2006 he won the 2nd prize at the I.J. Paderewski International Composers’ Competition in Bydgoszcz. He is the director of Studium of Contemporary Music at Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. He also composes music for film (in cooperation with Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing) and theater (in collaboration with Paweł Łysak).

Adam Kośmieja

He graduated with honors from the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz as a piano student of Jerzy Sulikowski. Afterwards, he graduated from the Manhattan School of Music in 2011 and earned the Dean's List status three times for academic achievement. He has been awarded the full Harold and Helen Schonberg Piano Scholarship. He was taught by Solomon Mikowsky, Gary Graffman, Gilbert Kalish, Lang Lang, Kirill Gerstein, Dina Yoffe, Eugen Indjic, Janusz Olejniczak and had supplementary sessions with Arie Vardi, Dmitri Bashkirov, Earl Wild and David Dubal. He also took composition classes with J. Mark Stambaugh. He performed in the USA (the Gilmore Music Festival in Michigan, New York: Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, the Yamaha Concert Artist's Hall; Los Angeles, San Diego, Chicago) Japan, France, Spain, England, Sweden and Finland. He won the First Prize in the Mieczyslaw Munz Competition in New York in 2009 and the First Prize at the Chopin Piano Competition at Columbia University in 2010. His repertoire and performing experience range from the Baroque through contemporary music, with emphasis on the music of the 20th century. At present Adam Kośmieja is working on the revitalization of K. Serocki's final work - "Pianophonie for piano, electronic sound transformation and orchestra". Kosmieja works with a young jazz pianist Christian Sands on a project called "3 X Piano" which combines the genres of classical, jazz and electronic piano music.
