Focused, ecstatic and wildly improvisational, the trio of Medeski, Martin & Wood is one of the most popular and vibrant instrumental ensembles of the last few decades. Formed in Brooklyn in 1991, MMW differentiated themselves from other improvising ensembles with their eclectic influences, tireless touring and freedom exploring all musical genres. They have defied categorization by collaborating with various artists from Iggy Pop to John Scofield, regarding an album for children, interpreting a selection of John Zorn´s material, and playing festivals all over the world. Their versatility and creativity continues to be stronger than ever. New album 'FREE MAGIC' - MMW Go Unplugged - out on the band´s label Indirecto Records.
