DJ Bass Reprodukktor Xiądz MAken I (Mirosław Dzięciołowski) comes from Zgorzelec and currently lives in Warsaw. He is the founder of one of the first Polish reggae sound systems Joint Venture Sound System that has been active for 25 years now. Together with his soundsystem partner Mario Dziurex he has performed thousands of times around Poland. Joint Venture also performed in Russia, Germany, France, Great Britain, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Austria. His selection is an eclectic mix of songs that are rarely or not at all played by other soundsystems. Among other genres you can hear roots dub, digital dub, reggae and world beat, all of which is spiced up with dub dynamics in punk style. DJ Bass Reprodukktor Xiądz Maken I is an MC and stage performer. He usually plays dressed in a cassock which is his work uniform. Since over 5 years he has been working in Channel 4 of the Polish Radio where he has his oww programme 'Strefa Dread' with music of the roots. Thanks to this radio programme Join Venture Sound System had the opportunity to present their sets live.
Maken also cooperated with TVP Kultura (Culture channel of Polish Public Television) and regularly contributes to a reggae magazine Free Colours. He also wokred with Paprika Korps as well as with the french band Brain Damage. Daily, he manages a concert agency. He also works for Ostróda Reggae Festival. He is a coproducer of the first Polish albums recorded on Jamaica in Tuff Gong studio such as Rastasize 'Day by Day' (2008) and Star Guard Muffin 'Jamaican Trip' (2011). Together with Activator they are responsible for the series of compilations 'Dub Out Of Poland' and a collection of remixes by Kapela Ze Wsi Warszawa 'Wymixowanie'.
