PERFORMERS
Portraits of Performance Artists by Johnny Amore

"Performers" is a unique photo project, that is portraying the worldwide active artists in Live Performance. It is a visual profile of the international performance scene of last decades which due to his wide spectrum also encloses an artistic photo archive. The portraits are mostly photographed after the respective performances in festivals and events as well as in personal meetings. I took out the artists of their close surroundings to place them in a new scenery which corresponds to their respective character or the style of their performance.

In this field of tension the character of the portrayed is stronger marked and the artist is described in detail; the person stands in the absolute centre of the viewer. The sphere, light and colour are selected to create a special individual atmosphere.

Meanwhile the serie includes 140 di!erent portraits of performance artists.
