Ryuzo Fukuhara

Ryuzo Fukuhara interest in dance was confirmed after attending a Butoh dance workshop led by Semi-maru from the group, Sankaijuku, in 1987. In 1991 Fukuhara joined the Butoh group Maijuku directed by one of the leading figures in Butoh, Min Tanaka.  Fukuhara established his own Paris-based company, Alchemic Sis, in 1996.

He was nominated to the semi-final, and presentation of IN THAT CASE, at the Japan Platform of Rencontres Choregrapheques Internationale de Seine-Saint-Denis, France,1998.

From 2000 onwards, Fukuhara switched focus to Europe. He has performed and held workshops in many countries, including the UK, Italy, France, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Yugoslavia, Germany, Austria, Russia, USA and Vietnam; and more recently Spain.

In 2005, Fukuhara was nominated to Biennale Nationale de Danse du Val-de-Marne in France.

In 2006, he was awarded the 2nd prize of solo-dance contest at the International Contemporary Dance Festival in Canary Islands, Spain.

Seijiro Murayama

Born in Nagasaki, Japan in 1957, percussionist, drummer, Seijiro Murayama works in France since 1999 after almost 20 years of improvised music experiences, during which  he encountered with Fred Frith, Tom Cora, Keiji Haino.
His artistic principal is especially to seek for  the  plural-disciplinity between music and other disciplines of art: danse, video, paintings, photos, litterature etc.
Murayama collaborates with philosoper, Jean-Luc Nancy, video artist, Olivier Gallon, choregrapher, Catherine Diverr?s, painter, François Bidault, writer, Nicolas Vatimbella etc.
Also in the same pluri-disciplinary way, he collaborates with many musicians, composers, and sound artists: Jean-Luc Guionnet, Eric La Casa, Eric Cordier, Lionel Marchetti,  John Duncan, Renato Rinaldi, Toshiya Tsunoda,Pascale Criton, Soundworm etc.

Even if his musical attitude has much evoluted since last  years and he has more and more of projects in the field of contemporary music, improvisation is still his major artistic concern (workshops of improvisation in  Japan, Italy, France). His aproach is based on a lot of attention to the space and the place, to the energy of the audience and the quality of silence in various ways.He wants to function as medium between the audience and the  music and he is now looking for another role than that of conventional musician. He is interested in making continuum, microscopic sounds and in how we can 'vitalise delicately' the space with the sound.

For his solo that has been innovated in the passed years, only with the snare drum,  he uses air and contact microphones , which enlarge the possibility  for him to circulate between the acoustic sound and the amplified one, with certain intention of making sounds sometimes on the edge of perceptions.
